Tougher Ofsted standards lead to loss of top grade
Davison High School, in Selbourne Road, Worthing, was downgraded to a ‘good’ school after an inspection last month.
Head teacher Chris Keating, who took over from long-standing head Della West in August last year, said the school would have received the same ‘good’ mark had the new tougher standards been in place before.

“If this new framework was retrospectively applied to the 2010 Ofsted report, we would have been given exactly the same outcome.
“In view of that, the school has not regressed at all and the inspection report identifies many developments which have taken place since 2010.”
