Disruption on Eastbourne trains
Trains are being forced to run at a reduced speed due to a fault with the signalling system at Eastbourne, according to Southern Rail.
The rail operator says trains may be delayed by up to 10 minutes and the disruption is expected to last until at least 1pm.

Southern says the fault has been confirmed as a ‘rack circuit failure’ which means the signalling system is unable to automatically verify if the next section of track past the affected signal is clear.
The company said in a statement, “Whilst this issue is ongoing, train crew will stop at the affected signal and contact the signalling centre to confirm their location, which at this point the signaller will verbally authorise the driver to continue towards the next signal.
“This process adds time to every train’s journey, which means services can experience short delays.”
