Hide AdDISTRACTION BURGLARIES: There has been a recent increase locally in this form of burglary, in which one member of the criminal team keeps you occupied at the front door while another slips into your home and steals some of your valuables. Do be on your guard: don’t have anything to do with strangers who can’t identify themselves convincingly. Please report any suspicious incidents to Crimestoppers (0800 555111).
OTHER THEFTS: Thefts of tools and other equipment from workshops, garages and garden sheds have also been increasing recently. Please remember to keep such places locked, especially at night. To have various items of your property security marked, Neighbourhood Watch suggests you go to www.immobilise.com. This should increase your chances of recovering stolen items, if you suffer the misfortune of a burglary.
