UPDATE: Road re-opened after fatal village crash
Emergency services were called to the A2037 Shoreham Road, between Henfield and Small Dole, at around 9.20am after reports two cars collided.
Police said a 22-year-old local man, died at the scene.
A 43-year-old woman, from Washington, along with a six-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton, with various injuries. None are believed to be life-threatening.

Hide AdPolice, firefighters and ambulance crews all attended the crash along with members of the Air Ambulance.
The road was closed in both directions between the Nep Town Road junction and the A281 Brighton Road junction. It has now been re-opened.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who saw either vehicle being prior to the collision to contact them by emailing [email protected] or by phoning 101, quoting Operation Angling.
