VOLUNTEER COLUMN: Cricket umpire needed in Littlehampton
With the cricket season already in full swing, the town’s club has appealed for volunteers to help umpire matches and uphold the laws of the game.
The club runs three senior teams on Saturdays and two on Sundays, with youths’ and girls’ teams competing in local leagues. Training will be offered.

n Age UK West Sussex is appealing for a triage telephone volunteer.
The role will see people contributing towards the provision of a county-wide information and advice service for the elderly.
Volunteers would help answer calls and questions from people.

Hide Adn The Royal Blind Society, at Bradbury Hotel, in Station Road, East Preston, is urging volunteers to help the charity provide day-trips out.
The role would see volunteers helping to arrange afternoon minibus outings, as well as trips to the shops, walks and other events.
Assistance is also needed on Saturdays to help new guests become familiar with the hotel’s surroundings, giving information about the area and helping the guests feel relaxed. People skills and a good sense of humour will be a distinct advantage when applying for the post.
