Hide AdSOROPTIMISTS: The next meeting of Eastbourne and District Soroptimists will be on Monday at Chalk Farm, Coopers Hill at 7.45pm. The speaker will be Scott Franklin-Lester (Sussex Police) on Personal Safety. New members and guests are welcome. Soroptimist International is a vibrant, dynamic organisation for today’s women. Soroptimist means ‘The best for women’ from the Latin, soror = sister optima = best. Joining a Soroptimist Club gives a woman the opportunity to meet with a welcoming, friendly group of like-minded women, to be part of a worldwide organisation, develop international friendships and increasing understanding of other cultures and world problems. Soroptimists make a difference to the lives of more than half a million women and girls in the world every year through our Programme Action work. We also have socials and fun.
