Woman finds caterpillarinside Tesco sandwich
Claire Katoroz, 31, purchased the £2 BLT sandwich from Tesco in Church Wood Drive, St Leonards on Tuesday morning (August 27) before going to work at HG Aerospace on the Castleham Industrial Estate.
She said: “I started eating the sandwich later on in the morning. I decided to take the lettuce out as a friend of mine once found a snail inside a bag of lettuce. I spotted the caterpillar after it sprung out and started moving.”

Hide AdClaire, of Wickham Avenue, Bexhill, phoned Tesco and was told to take the sandwich back which she did. The store offered her a £5 gift card.
But she claimed management staff were unsympathetic when she complained and demanded to know how the caterpillar got into the sandwich.
Claire said: “They weren’t even sympathetic to the fact I had been physically sick and unable to eat. Tesco’s customer service is also shocking. I rung head office and was told I had to wait up to four weeks for a response.”
A Tesco spokesman said: “We were concerned to learn of this issue and have launched a thorough investigation with our supplier. We have apologised to the customer and will of course keep her updated with the findings.”
