Keeping Moises Caicedo at the club was the main piece of business as Albion rejected offers from Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal. Chelsea came in first with an offer of around £50m before Arsenal upped the bid to £55m. The Gunners then returned with £60m in the brief case but that was also quickly rebuffed by Albion. The main outgoing deal this window also involved Arsenal as Belgian attacker Leo Trossard made a £22m switch to the Emirates. Trossard pushed hard for the deal and although it’s a blow for head coach Roberto De Zerbi, the form of Kaoru Mitoma has helped soften the blow. Brighton, who are sixth in the Premier League, also made three additions to their squad and there were many other significant moves as players looked to advance or kick-start their careers elsewhere.
Here Sussex World looks at all 11 deals Albion have made this January and three that didn’t get over the line...
