Crawley Town's mid-season grade: I'll give them a B
The highlight has obviously been the incredible demolition of Leeds in the FA Cup but there has been notable league wins too, including back to back 4-0 home victories against Morecambe and Tranmere, and an upturn in away league form leading to wins on the road against Oldham, Orient, Forest Green and Bolton so far.
Star pupil so far this season has clearly been the now departed Max Watters, who took League Two by storm after signing in October and bagged 16 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions before earning a move to Cardiff in the Championship. But there has to be a mention for some other notable performers from the flurry of new signings that arrived at The People’s Pension Stadium in the summer.

Hide AdTom Nichols is already into double figures for goals including a hat-trick in that incredible 6-5 win at Torquay in the Cup.
The potential of players such as Matthews, Davies and Frost alongside the experience of players such as Tony Craig is there for all to see – as is the capability of what this squad could achieve this season and beyond.
George Francomb has taken over the captain’s armband with aplomb since the start of the season and has also got himself among the goals having four to his name already.
Crawley are in mid-table and until recent setbacks were not too many points off a play-off place. They still have games in hand on many teams around them.

Hide AdLeague form has taken a dip since the Leeds victory with just one point – and the Cup dream came to an end with a narrow defeat at Bournemouth.
Now it’s time to move forward again.
On their day, this Crawley side can beat anyone in their league – so let’s hope that the second half of the season goes as well if not better than the first and that the side improve on the ‘B’ grading that I would give them so far.
Don’t forget that updates on all Crawley matches are available on BBC Radio Sussex and BBC Radio Surrey throughout the season. Up The Reds!
