Westies rally for decent draw
A second half free kick from David Pugh gave Westfield a second 1-1 draw to go alongside two 4-3 defeats in their last four Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two games.
Westfield manager Jethro Warren said: “I would’ve taken a point before the game. First half was probably the worst we’ve played all year, but second half was a lot better. I think we did enough in the second half to deserve a point, especially the last half-an-hour.”

Hide AdMile Oak were by far the better side in all departments before the break and took the lead after 11 minutes. A misunderstanding between defender and goalkeeper allowed Danny Curd’s header to creep in via the post.
Apart from one good save by Connor Holland, Oak didn’t really carve out anything clearcut thereafter and Westfield were much-improved after the break as the freescoring Sam Willett got used to a new free role.
Pugh earned the visitors a share of the spoils with a 25-yard free kick around the wall which gave the goalkeeper no chance. Matt Dadswell had Westfield’s best opportunity thereafter with a header 15 minutes from time.
