Saddlers Diary
A HUNTSMAN arrived at the shop with a pair of long boots.
He had been kicked by a horse and there was a hole through both layers of leather at the top of the boot.
"Could you do a quick repair for me?" he asked.
Dismantling the boot, I found it was brittle and hard. I was a bit baffled to find it so hard and rang him to ask, but he could not enlighten me.
Then I suddenly had a thought. "Do you stand them in the grate or dry them by the range," I asked. He admitted he did. Problem solved?
