Success for Harriers duo Martin and Emma
Footman raced to victory in a field of 15,000 runners with a time of 33min 40sec and Macready was the first woman across the line in 36-00.
The pair, who were invited to compete in the event by members of their fitness company, Your Next Move, proved to be the perfect role models with their race wins.

Hide AdSpeaking after coming out on top in the field of 15,000 competitors, Footman said: “It was great to win the race.
“Myself and Emma were invited by members of the fitness group that we run to compete.
“Beforehand it wasn’t a race I was looking to win but as it went on I felt I had more of a chance. Towards the end, I was near the front and managed to get away and finish in first place.
“The race is for a great cause and it was nice for myself and Emma to compete and for us both to get victories.”

Hide AdMacready, who finished fifth in the South of England cross country run the previous day, produced an excellent display and was the first woman across the line.
The 35-year-old admitted that it was not a race she was expecting to win, so was delighted to be the first woman home.
She said: “It was a great feeling to be the first woman to finish. I competed in the South of England race the day before and was not feeling the best before this race.
“However, it was for a great cause and, although it was not one I was taking too seriously, to get top spot was great.

“At the end of February, I have got the national cross country race in Donnington and after that I’m competing for Sussex at the inter-county national competition in Birmingham.
“The inter-county race is really tough with the top eight runners from each county taking part.
“But it was nice to get the win in this one and now it’s time to prepare for the races that I have coming up.”
