Beth Hart brings raw and powerful blues-rock sound to The Brook in Southampton

On the back of chart success with her new album Don’t Explain, Beth Hart brings raw and powerful blues-rock sound to The Brook in Southampton on Friday, November 25 (doors 8pm).

Following the release of Don’t Explain, her collaboration album with blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, one of the most powerful female voices of her generation, Beth Hart, returns to the UK in November 2011 and February 2012.

A spokesman said: “After completely selling out the London Dingwalls and Derby Flowerpot concerts in November, and due to overwhelming public demand, Beth has just confirmed her biggest UK solo concert to date, at the London Shepherds Bush Empire on Saturday February 25.

“Charting at number 22 on the official UK album charts, “Don’t Explain” has been met with both critical and commercial acclaim. The debut single “I’ll Take Care Of You” was featured as Record of the Week on BBC Radio 2, with Jo Whiley proclaiming during a live session that Beth expels “the most powerful voice we have ever had in the studio.”

Classic Rock Magazine says of the album - “Hart’s gritty contralto both crackles and soars...”, with Mojo Magazine adding - “Bonamassa’s interaction with Hart’s declamatory vocals – think Janis Joplin meets Etta James – results in a potent musical chemistry.”

Beth Hart has been fascinated with music ever since she was a small child. As a 4-year-old, she started to play piano. At first, she concentrated on classical works by Bach and Beethoven, but as she grew older, she also began to play more mainstream pieces by artists such as Etta James, Otis Redding and even Led Zeppelin.
