One Less for the Road reveals the secrets of life after alcohol – the perfect read for anyone needing that extra persuasion to quit.

“This book is aimed firmly at the drinker who probably knows they need to, but who doesn’t want to quit. So what is life like without alcohol? Is it even worth considering? And could you cope?

“What will you do with yourself if you throw the alcohol crutch away? Will it just be a life full of boredom, stress, regret, a daily challenge fighting temptation and losing your best friends, or will it be a whole fantastic new world to explore and that you can’t possibly yet contemplate?”

Julian, author of the popular I Don’t Drink – How to Quit Alcohol, is now targeting the drinker who needs to cut down or quit drinking but doesn’t want to.

Julian quit alcohol three years ago last December, and the one thing his friends and the people he meets really want to know is “What is life really like without alcohol?” In his new book Julian sets out to provide the answer.

Julian said: “I never wanted to quit alcohol. I hated the very thought of stopping drinking, but I knew I had to so I did, and I can’t believe how easy it turned out to be, how I don’t miss alcohol at all and what an incredible difference stopping drinking has made to my life and the lives of my family and close friends. For one thing I know for a fact I would be dead by now if I was still a drinker!’

“It still amazes me that before I quit I only ever considered the down-side of not drinking, the boring Sunday lunch without wine, watching a panto without being tipsy, not getting wrecked in the wine bar with my mates.

“I never once considered the huge benefits from quitting; the healthier, fitter, happier me; the fantastically-improved relationship I have with my loved ones; the shed-loads of money I have saved; the fact I will live decades longer than I thought I would, and the incredible fact that I don’t miss alcohol at all so my fears were completely unfounded.”

In December 2012 Julian gave up alcohol after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, having already watched both his mother and elder brother die from liver failure and seriously expecting to be dead himself by the age of 56.

Now three years later, Julian’s diabetes has been resolved, he has never been so fit or healthy, he has revolutionised his life and he firmly expects to live a full and rewarding life well into his 90s, and all because he quit alcohol, he says.

“But I didn’t want to, and if you don’t really want to either but you know you should – read this book! If you think you have a potential drink problem – this book will change your attitude to not drinking and it could very well save your life!”

One Less for the Road is available as both an ebook and paperback from amazon or via the website www.idontdrink.net. Julian has also published short stories under the title The 7.52 to London Bridge and is a member of the Chichester independent author group CHINDI, www.chindi-authors.co.uk.
