The market, which is held on the third Saturday of each month, was upgraded in the summer, with new traders joining to improve the range of artisan goods on sale.

Stalls have been well-received by shoppers and the market has been flourishing since the new look was launched following three months of closure due to the first national lockdown.

Market manager Lou Crush came up with the idea of setting up a click and collect service for November, when lockdown was announced by the government, and after many hours of hard work and planning, the stallholders’ online shop was ready to go.

Nikki Richardson, manager of Arundel Lido, offered use of its marquee for sorting, packing and setting up a collection station for orders.

Lou, from Daylands Farm in Ashurst, said: “In just four days, we received around 50 orders. We could not have done it without help from Arundel Lido and our great volunteers. It’s been a great community effort.”

Michelle Scott, who leads the new Arundel Town Council working group, managed advertising and residents were informed via the Arundel Community Network Newsletter.
