“With our capacity to go on holiday, or even commute to work reduced, we’re all looking inwardly at our own communities and the reassurance we can take from that. I think a country pub can be a big part of that in Lodsworth.”

Angus added that there will be an emphasis on ‘uncomplicated, but exquisitely executed food’.

The kitchen has been offering up bar food, and from the 18th of October onwards, a full menu of dining options, produced from carefully sourced ingredients .

The Hollist provides a temporary space in which to display artwork featured in Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s ‘River Cottage A to Z: Our favourite Ingredients, and How to Cook Them’.

Angus added: “It’s been going really well. The weekends have been going especially well.

“We are trying to generate interest and people have been responding very well to our offering — it’s very simple but very well executed.

“I have loved it and the village has been very responsive and really supportive.”
