Retro clothing shop in St Martin’s Street, Chichester is bringing some fun back to shopping for the festive season with private shopping sessions, complete with a glass of bubbly.

The shop is welcoming bookings for a maximum of four people and in return for a £5 deposit which is redeemable against any purchases, the group can enjoy the shop to themselves and a glass of prosecco whilst browsing.

Owner Kelly Mitchell said: “I wanted to do something to bring some fun back to shopping. We’ve all had such a challenging year and even something like browsing in the shops has become quite stressful.

"Private shopping with a glass of bubbly is a way to connect with others and relax a little. With Christmas coming up, it’s a chance to get together, perhaps treat yourself to a nice new dress, a sparkly top or some quirky jewellery to show off at a zoom party or even a cosy cardigan and dungarees while staying at home.”

The changing room is cleaned regularly to allow guests to try on clothes, and any clothes that are not purchased are steam-cleaned afterwards to ensure Covid-safety. The shop offers a broad range of fashion for all ages, shapes, sizes and styles as well as quirky gifts for those looking to make a start on their Christmas shopping.

Brands stocked at Cherry Vintage include Collectif, Hell Bunny, Lady Vintage, Run & Fly, Erstwilder and Guns ‘n’ Posies.

Kelly said: “We normally think of private shopping as something that’s for superstars, but this is a way to get the star treatment without the high price tag. Cherry Vintage private shopping evenings are a chance to get together with loved ones and have some fun. From mother-daughter bookings to sisters, friends and work colleagues, I am looking forward to welcoming small groups into the shop. I’m also aware that there are people who struggle to come into the shop when the high street is busy or are nervous about crowds, so this is a safe and fun way to enjoy shopping.”

Cherry Vintage is open Tuesday – Saturday and the website www.cherryvintageclothing.co.uk accepts orders for delivery and collection in store.

Bookings for private shopping can be made via the Facebook page facebook.com/cherryvintage2019 or by emailing [email protected]
