Fiver Fest Chichester: All you need to know about the two weeks of special £5 offers

Chichester BID has teamed up with Totally Locally for its Fiver Fest to highlight the contribution of independent shops and businesses to our high street.

Jeanette Hockley, Chichester BID operations manager, said: “The independent shops and businesses are what makes our city special and unique. We appreciate it when our community support us, so these offers are to say thank you for that support, and to show just what great value our local businesses provide.”

Totally Locally estimates that if every adult in Chichester spent £5 a week in their local shops and businesses, instead of online or at a big supermarket, it would be worth £5.2million to the local economy.

Fiver Fest has been running in towns across the UK and abroad for the past seven years.

In October 63 towns from all over the UK, including Chichester, took part in the fortnightly event.

Totally Locally’s Chris Sands said: “We know Fiver Fest isn’t going to change the world, but small changes in spending habits can really make a difference to our high streets. Just by diverting £5 of our weekly spend to local independents we give them a fighting chance to thrive. It’s a conversation worth having!”

Some of the £5 offers available in Chichester during the two weeks include a Lolita coupe glass from Present Surprise in South Street, which is normally £18; a table for four people plus access to the in-store games library at CGC Emporium in North Street – a saving of £7; and women’s winter coats/jackets and men’s suiting at the St Wilfrid’s Hospice charity shop in South Street.

Whitbys in Baffins Lane, The Jewellery & Watch Company in Eastgate Square, Sit & Sip in Northgate, Almshouse Arcade in The Hornet and Café Paradiso in North Street will also have offers, while Drapers Yard businesses will also be taking part.

Fiver Fest runs from February 15-29.
