A furniture showroom could be coming to Chichester city centre at the Corn Exchange on Baffins Lane.

The Grade II listed office building was earmarked for a cafe last year, but plans have attracted numerous objections from residents.

Applicant BoConcept, a Danish company with an outlet in Guildford, hopes to adapt the ground floor and part of the first floor into a showroom, with a new internal staircase.

The developing agent has stressed there will be no need for air conditioning units, staff parking spaces, or changes to bin collection arrangements.
