Talented chefs sought for Goodwood's new culinary programme

Goodwood is on the lookout for talented, diverse and driven chefs to join the business within one of its many venues of culinary excellence.

Goodwood is working alongside Chichester College’s hospitality department to develop a 2-year intern scheme, which is now successfully running into its 3rd year of operation.

With the scheme in full swing Goodwood now has a chef operating at each level of the programme, 1st and 2nd year apprentices as well as a successful chef who has now been employed by Goodwood on a permanent basis and has just been promoted to the position of Demi Chef De Partie.

“The Chef’s Academy programme allows young students to join us on that journey and explore with us as they learn.”

To enter the programme, candidates partake in interviews and cook offs to showcase their gastronomic skills.

The successful applicant is invited to work at Goodwood on the 2-year programme with the end goal of potentially being offered a position within one of the restaurants across the Estate.

The apprentice starts at Home Farm, getting a greater understanding of the estate-reared produce, they then work within each of the different restaurants across the estate, adding to their experience.

The Goodwood Chef Academy programme is introduced to students in the final year of their level one professional cookery course by Lyndsay Moger, Goodwood’s Head of Recruitment for Entertainment and Hospitality, as well as Henry MacAskill, Entertaining and Hospitality
