Two students at Chichester College test positive for Covid-19

Chichester College has confirmed that two students have tested positive for Covid-19.

The college said individuals who had been in close contact with these students are now self-isolating.

A spokesperson said: “Chichester College can confirm that two students have tested positive for Covid-19.

“Following Department for Education guidelines, we quickly identified and informed those who had been in close contact with these students.

“Individuals concerned are now self-isolating as per government advice.”

The college spokesperson said ‘additional and thorough cleaning’ has taken place at the campus, adding: “Our priority is ensuring that our colleges are safe places to learn, and our staff and students’ health and wellbeing is of utmost importance. 

“We have a rigorous process in place to minimise the risk of the spread of Covid-19.

“This includes one-way systems around buildings, multiple sanitiser stations, regular cleaning of touch points throughout the day, the wearing of masks in communal areas, staggered start, finish and break times for classes and social distancing.”

Chichester College asks that anyone who is showing symptoms should avoid coming to college.

“Instead they should seek medical advice and follow government guidance,” the spokesperson said.
