West Sussex coronavirus deaths and infections: Latest Government figures

More than a dozen people have sadly died in West Sussex hospitals this week after testing positive for coronavirus.

According to figures released by NHS England yesterday (May 13), 321 people have now died after testing positive for coronavirus in hospitals in trusts that serve West Sussex.

It shows an increase of 13 deaths since figures released on Saturday, May 9.

That total does not include people who have died outside of hospital, for example in care homes or in the community.

The latest number of deaths in trusts serving West Sussex are:

Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust - 218

Sussex Community Healthcare NHS Trust - 15

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 88

The number of people who have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK, in all settings, stands at 33,186 as of 5pm on May 12.
