West Sussex school isolates 26 pupils and four staff after positive coronavirus test

A school in West Sussex has had to send home 26 pupils and four staff after a pupil tested positive for coronavirus.

The head teacher of Vale School in Findon in Worthing, Martin Garratt, confirmed one child tested positive for coronavirus last week after displaying symptoms of Covid-19.

As soon as the case was identified, the entire bubble connected to the child was sent home and told to self-isolate for 14 days, Martin said, in line with Public Health England guidelines.

"We follow Public Health England guidance in all cases," he said.

Vale School is a primary school in Vale Avenue, Findon Valley.

Schools across the country reopened on September 1 in line with Government guidance.
