Every person over the age of 70 has been booked for an appointment, the district council has said.

The vaccine has been dished out from GP-led vaccination sites at Tangmere, Selsey, Midhurst and Pulborough. Midhurst Pharmacy can also be accessed via the booking system and whil Chichester city remains without a centre, an announcement is expected next week.

A spokesman for Chichester District Council "As previously mentioned, our NHS colleagues have been looking into possible vaccination sites in the centre of Chichester. They hope to release an update on this very soon. Identifying and then getting a site approved is complex and has to be approved by NHS England.

"Overall, Sussex is the fifth fastest area in the country to roll out of the vaccine. Over 302,000 vaccinations have now been delivered across Sussex.

"Our NHS colleagues are confident that they will have offered the first vaccination to all of the government’s top four priority groups by 15 February. There are no issues with the availability of the vaccine in the district.

"Anyone who has not yet been contacted, or has been unwell and not been able to attend an appointment, will remain on the list and will be contacted at the first opportunity.

"Those who are in eligible groups, housebound and unable to leave their home will receive their vaccination through a home visit and these are currently underway.

"If you are a carer to someone who is housebound, you can be vaccinated at the same time as the person you are caring for. This will be arranged when the NHS contact you."
