The 2016 national NHS Staff Survey results showed that Western Sussex Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (WSHFT) – which runs St Richard’s, Worthing and Southlands Hospitals – placed in the top 20 per cent for ‘staff recommendation as a place to work’.

The survey showed 72 per cent of WSHFT respondents said they would recommend Western Sussex as a place to work, against an average of 62 per cent for all hospitals nationwide.

It also revealed 80 per cent of staff would recommend the standard of care provided, compared to 70 per cent nationally.

WSHFT chief executive Marianne Griffiths said: “It is great that our staff are so willing to recommend us as a place to work because it’s only through being able to recruit and retain the very best people that we can provide the very best care.”
