Debate on Olympic gender equality at Chichester University

SOME people have said the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games were the '˜woman's games'.

Today (Thursday, November 15), from 6pm to 7.30pm, Chichester University is hosting an Olympic Games debate with a panel of sporting experts hoping to answer the question – To what extent were they gender equal?

The debate aims to cover a wide topic area, from the role of female presenters and decision makers to the ongoing challenges which surrounding women wishing to have a career in sport.

The four panellists are Paralympian Emma Wiggs, Gamesmaker Sarah Porter, Dr Tim Holder and Sue Tibballs, chief executive of the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation.

Dr Anita White OBE will be panel chairman and Dr Elizabeth Pike will host.

Audience members will have the chance to question panellists and join them for refreshments following the discussion. There is no entry charge but organisers ask for a donation to the Anita White Foundation. Anyone who would like to attend can email [email protected].
