FAIR: Fernhurst Revels procession

FERNHURST Revels take place tomorrow (Sunday, May 15) with a procession from Nappers Wood at 12.30pm.

Crowning of the May queen at the recreation ground will kick off an afternoon of celebration and entertainment.

The Revels date back 100 years or so and became the enduring name for the village fete which raises money for village clubs, societies and charities.

The traditional pageant of St Geoge slaying the dragon precedes maypole dancing and a fancy dress competition.

Attractions include a birds of prey flying display, gundogs, agility dogs, live music, Samboogie Band, and vintage vehicles.

Other features of the event are stalls, a hog roast, barbecue, teas, children’s picnics, and a beer tent.

Parking is free and there is no entrance fee.
