A27 reopens after crash involving van and motorcycle in Chichester

The A27 has been reopened in Chichester after a collision between a van and a motorbike this afternoon (Friday, January 24).

Chichester Police has advised motorists to expect residual delays in the area after the accident on the A27 eastbound near the Fishbourne roundabout (A259 Cathedral Way).

In a post on Twitter at 4.20pm, Chichester Police wrote: "We currently have one lane closed A27 eastbound from Fishbourne roundabout.

"This is causing delays in the area. Please avoid if you can."

The road was reopened as of 5.10pm, police confirmed.

Whilst the incident was ongoing, a spokesperson for Sussex Police said: "Police were called to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a van on the A27 in Chichester, near the Fishbourne roundabout, shortly after 3pm on Friday.

"Officers are in attendance and one eastbound lane is currently closed to traffic."

It follows a collision the A259 between Chichester and Bognor earlier this afternoon. Read more here
