£1k donation to support work of Aldingbourne Trust

The Aldingbourne Trust is receiving a £1,000 donation from law firm Irwin Mitchell.

The donation celebrates the merger of Irwin Mitchell and south coast law firm Thomas Eggar, which has offices in Chichester. It demonstrates the firm’s long-standing relationship with charities working in local communities. Thomas Eggar has supported Aldingbourne Trust for a number of years and today they pledge to continue their support as Irwin Mitchell.

Irwin Mitchell has donated similar amounts to other charities in London, Gatwick, Newbury and Southampton to mark the merger.

Irwin Mitchell has a proud tradition of supporting charities and the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation has donated more than £1.25m to good causes since its launch in 1997. The firm also supports charities local to each of its offices as part of its Charity of the Year initiative.

Irwin Mitchell and Thomas Eggar announced merger plans last year creating a £250m law firm ranked 11th in the UK with about 300 partners based in locations across the country.

Samantha Ewing, associate at Irwin Mitchell, said:

“Irwin Mitchell has a proud history of supporting charities where our offices are based and being involved in the local community is a big part of our day-to-day life. All our offices support one local charity of their choice every year and our people are passionate about supporting our local communities. We encourage our people to take part in voluntary activities and we enable them to donate 14 hours of their time each year to charity work.

“We are especially proud of the work of the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation, which was set up by staff in 1997 and has since donated more than £1.25m to charities and good causes. The Foundation enables us to give something back to our communities and support those who need it most.”
