A DEVELOPER has launched a planning appeal to build 46 new homes in Birdham.
Seaward Properties Ltd was refused permission to build on land south-east of Church Lane at the end of August by Chichester District Council’s planning committee.
The decision to throw out the application in August after a two-hour debate sparked jubilation from villagers, many of whom have been battling a number of applications in their village this year.
There is a proposal to build 27 homes at Rowan Nursery, which was deferred by the district council earlier this year.
There is an ongoing planning appeal for 30 homes at Tawny Nursery which has not yet been decided, and last month at a planning committee, 15 homes were given the go-ahead for land at Crooked Lane.
A planning inquiry for Church Lane will take place at a date yet to be confirmed.
People have until January 21, 2014, to make written comments to the planning inspector at 26 Hawk Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN, quoting the DCLG reference number APP/L3815/A/13/2208162.
