A BIRDHAM woman walked 30 miles over three days to raise awareness of prostate cancer.

Caroline Bunney, of Walwyn Close, did the walk after her dad Roger was treated for the same illness.

Between August 12 and 14 she walked from Swanage to Lulworth Cove, then on to Weymouth.

She said: “My father’s illness was only picked up by chance. His brother in New Zealand was diagnosed with it.

“I wanted to do something positive as it had been a stressful time for the family.

“The first day was quite challenging, 17 miles, but it was uphill. It was the equivalent of climbing Mount Snowdon twice.”

Caroline said other family members joined in with the walk to raise awareness and funds for other good causes.
