Bognor 18-year-old fined for bag theft

AN 18-YEAR-OLD from Bognor Regis pleaded guilty to stealing a midwife’s bag, along with oxygen and gas cylinders, from a car in Chichester.

Jake Cramp, 18, of Collyer Avenue, Bognor, was charged with burglary and theft from a vehicle in Southbank, Chichester, on January 7, and appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court.

He pleaded guilty to the charges and received a community order and a £60 fine.

Cramp will also be electronically tagged and the subject of a curfew.

The theft was from a Vauxhall Zafira car, in King’s Avenue, shortly before 9am on January 7.

The bag, belonging to a midwife, contained medical equipment including a blood pressure monitor and syringes.
