Bonanza as St Wilfrid's Hospice holds Bubble Rush
Chichester High School was bursting with a bonanza of bubbles when St Wilfrid's Hospice held their first sponsored Bubble Rush event earlier this month.
The day saw over 750 participants of all ages and abilities charging through coloured walls of foaming bubbles, raising funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
The ‘Bubblers’ included children in pushchairs, toddlers and teenagers, groups of friends, mums and dads as well and grandparents and even a couple of wheelchairs.
The course was just under 5km long and had four colour stations along the way where the participants were faced with a sea of coloured foam to wade through, together with a bubble cannon to contend with which blew out frothy bubbles.
Chichester Music Academy, Zou and Kevin Cassidy, provided live music. There was also a merchandise stall.
Samatha Moore, events and community manager for St Wilfrid’s Hospice, said: “It really was such a fantastic day; it was so lovely to see everyone having so much fun. Lots of people had already signed up to take part but we also had many more who turned up and registered on the day and we hope to raise around £20,000.
“The day ran really smoothly but would not have happened without the support of all our fantastic volunteers who really pull out all the stops to make our events a success. It was a great family event which we hope will become a regular fixture on the fundraising calendar.”
Bubble Rush will be coming back to Chichester in 2017.
