CONTENTIOUS plans to move the traders’ market into Chichester’s town centre will be discussed further.
That is after Chichester District Council this morning agreed to put the plans forward for consultation.
The traditional market is currently situated in the Cattle Market car park, its home since 1960.
In the 1980s it was a thriving market with close to 100 stalls but in recent years it has seen a sharp decline, with many holders pulling out.
A number of interested parties will now be spoken to, including market stall holders, members of the chamber of commerce and the Chichester BID, to gauge opinion for the move.
