BREAKING NEWS: Eight hectares of standing crop alight

A major fire has broken out on farmland just outside of Chichester this afternoon (Sunday, September 6).

A baler and eight hectares of standing crop are currently well alight on the land in Southbrook Road, West Ashling.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has sent four fire engines, four 4x4 vehicles and one water carrier to the scene.

The blaze broke out just before 2pm.

No one is believed to have been injured.
