A PUB in Chichester has become the first in the country to serve draught vodka.
Customers of the multi-award winning Globe Inn can now enjoy a standard measure of ice-cold vodka straight from the font, served in just one second.
The move is the latest in a series of initiatives that licensees John and Sharon Chittock have introduced that have helped make the Globe one of the most popular venues in the city.
The revolutionary font dispenses the spirit brand, Vodka One, in calibrated 25ml measures at a temperature of ten degrees.
The Globe’s manager, Roger Nessling said: “It’s a brilliant idea and everyone who has tried it has loved it, customers say their drinks are colder and a lot smoother than from a bottle.
“It is a lot quicker and easier for us to serve them, especially when we are busy.”
The new system works by having an under-counter fridge that holds two five-litre containers of Vodka One.
The Globe had to submit sales figures and stock levels to Vodka One to be placed on a short-list of pubs.
