OLDER people are benefiting from a care service being run by a supported living scheme in Chichester.
Leaholme offers Homecare, a service run by care provider Places for People.
It offers a range of services from a 15-minute home visit to help with personal care or practical tasks to more comprehensive support which might include personal care, dressing, shopping, cooking, cleaning, medication and companionship or help just getting out and about.
Registered scheme manager at Places for People Debbie Levey said: “Many people will be at crisis point when they need to choose care services for themselves or for family members.
“We’re encouraging people to talk to us before they reach that crisis point so they have more time to make better-informed decisions about any help they might need now or in the near future.”
Homecare customers are also able to use the Meals on Wheels service and attend events and activities operated by Leaholme to help them maintain social connections and make new friends.
The sheltered accommodation scheme was assessed by the Care Quality Commission in December 2011 and found to be meeting all the essential standards.
