Cash raised at Fontwell races

A FAMILY fun day at Fontwell Racecourse raised £1,300 for the Love Your Hospital charity.

The event, on Sunday, September 7, saw a day of racing for all the family – and it seemed revellers were generous with their winnings.

The hospital charity attended the event, with the help of sponsor Regis Removals.

A Love Your Hospital spokeswoman said: “In total we raised £1,300.

“Love Your Hospital is so honoured and proud to have sponsorship like Regis Removals that always give their full support to our charity.

“What was so amazing on the day is that we had seven nurses and managers from the Howard ward attend the event and help raise money on the day, and
give up their free time to help the ward.

“Also we had 30-plus NHS staff on the day, wearing the logo t-shirts, which was also great.”

Love Your Hospital charity raises money for equipment in St Richard’s Hospital which is not funded by the NHS.

Recent funds have gone towards parent beds in the children’s ward, so that parents can stay at the hospital with their children, and special fans for the Howard ward.

Many local businesses and residents get on board and help to raise funds for the hospital, and they can decide what their money is spent on.
