Charity ride in fresh air for Chichester lung doctor

A LUNG consultant from St Richard’s Hospital has completed a 200-mile bike ride from Inverness through the Hebrides to raise funds for
his patients.

David Ross completed the challenge to raise cash for Optiflow ventilators, which warm and humidify the oxygen his patients need so it is easily absorbed.

“The support has been great, with donations from patients and members of the public, plus who knows how many from staff,” he said.

The ventilators are needed for patients on Ford Ward and in the intensive care unit.

So far he has raised more than £400 and hopes for more, as each ventilator costs £2,500.

In total he hopes to raise around £7,500 for the new ventilators.
