Chichester Boots opticians embark on ten-mile sponsored walk

STAFF at Boots opticians are embarking on a ten-mile sponsored walk to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Fifteen staff members will be joined by family and friends and will set off from the branch in North Street and walk to Bosham and back.

The group have been collecting donations from customers in-store and are hoping to smash their £500 target, which Boots will match if that target is reached.

The half-way point will be marked with a picnic on Bosham Green, before the group head back to North Street.

The group will be setting of at 9:30am this Sunday (July 15).

They would welcome anyone who would like to see them off on their journey or welcome them back after they have completed the ten-mile trek.

Emma Bell, branch manager for Boots Opticians said: “We`re really looking forward to it; some of us have lost people to cancer so it feels so personal. We’re praying we don’t have to wear our wellies and can wear our trainers instead.”
