Chichester community groups urged to make grant applications

COMMUNITY groups in the south Chichester area are being urged to apply for grants from West Sussex County Council.

The council’s south Chichester county local committee wants to hear from groups and organisations which work for the benefit of the local community.

Committee chairman Mike Hall said grants could range from a few hundred pounds up to £2,500.

“They can be used to buy equipment, to support one-off community events and activities or for organisations trying to reach new people.

“Unfortunately awards cannot be made for ongoing revenue or running costs,” he added.

Recent examples of grants include Selsey Festival which received £500 towards the production of a colour festival brochure, Eartham Village Hall which received £2,000 replacement flooring for kitchen and Maybush Copse Friends which received £2,500 towards an accessibility project for the woodland.
