A lasting legacy has been planted in Chichester to mark a momentous year.
Members of the Royal Sussex Regimental Association gathered in Litten Gardens to plant a memorial tree to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee.
Members of the Association were joined by mayor Anne Scicluna, who also picked up a spade to help with the planting of the Canadian Oak.
The tree was planted with the permission of the district council, which will also be planting a commemorative tree of its own later in the year. The planting took place at 3pm on Friday, September 28.
