THIEVES broke into the Pandora store in East Street, Chichester last night (December 29).
One eyewitness, Wayne Lock said: “We heard banging and shouting coming from the side street. We could see smoke, and guys, four of them. We saw them run off.
“They chucked a smoke bomb. My housemate ran down and they run past her.”
He said there were ‘four massive guys’, who left with a ‘big bag of stuff’.
“They had all the tools with them,” he said.
The Pandora shop opened in October as part of an extension of G H Pressley and Sons, which has two stores in the Buttermarket, and jewellery stores in Worthing.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the break-in.
“At just after 10pm a call was received to say the alarm was going off at Pandora and one of the windows was smashed,” said a Sussex Police spokeswoman,
“There appeared to be smoke at the scene, believed to be from a smoke cloak.
“It was believed four men wearing dark hooded tops, who dropped some jewellery as they fled the scene.”
Police are appealing to anyone who has any information to contact police on 101 or email email@example.com or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
