SOME recipients of West Sussex County Council’s Operation Watershed fund have been announced.
Following damaging floods in recent times, the county council set aside £8.25m for communities to bid for in an attempt to improve drainage and make other improvements for some of the areas worst-affected by floods.
The county council announced this week that Tangmere Parish Council had been successful in its bid for £18,145 to finance the investigation and completion of drainage works.
In addition, Birdham Parish Council was told it would receive £10,960 for drain clearance in Church Lane and to investigate the installation of CCTV cameras.
East Dean Parish Council will receive £2,791.20 to investigate the condition and capacity of the village pond drainage and the Parklands Residents’ Association in Chichester will get £2,000 to purchase equipment for a new flood action group.
