THE CHRISTMAS spirit was alive, well and squawking at the Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital over the weekend.
The centre in Sidlesham again opened its doors for its annual Christmas fair to raise funds which are vital for its future.
Over Saturday and Sunday around 900 people came through its doors to buy books and other donated items as children visited Santa and wandered around looking at the animals.
Staff members estimated around £5,000 was raised over the two days, money which will go directly to caring for the injured and sick wild animals who come there.
Hospital manager Emma Pink said: “It’s been a great weekend and we’ve again had lots of visitors through our doors.
“It’s always a really nice atmosphere because everyone is here to support us and people enjoy chatting about the animals and learning a bit.”
