Just 30 places are available for the day, with the oppportunity to be driven round the circuit in a range of cars including an Aston Martin and GT40. Rides can only be booked on the day, with prices starting at £50. All proceeds will go to charity.

To enter a classic car to the track costs £250, with a light lunch included. A driver’s dinner will also take place the evening before at the Earl of March in Lavant at an additional cost of £50 per head, hosted by Goodwood Revivial legend Michael (Spike) Milligan.

This year’s event is the second time running that Winston’s Wish has been chosen as charity partner.

Each year, Winston’s Wish reaches more than 40,000 bereaved children and young people through an array of dedicated services. The specialist support programmes include support following death as a result of accident, illness, homicide, suicide and military service.

Leigh-Beth Stroud, Community Fundraiser at Winston’s Wish, said: “We’re delighted to be a partner of the Classics on Track for Children day for a second year running and really want to thank Paul and his team for their continued support.

“Last year’s event raised a fantastic £3,000 for Winston’s Wish, enabling us to continue our support for children that have been bereaved.”

Event organiser Paul Auston said: “This event was came about as it combined, for serious drivers, the ability to take a high performance classic or GT sports car on to one of the World’s premier classic motor racing circuits, a track that is the same as it was back in the 1950’s.

“To use the circuit and raise funds for Winston’s Wish, a children’s bereavement charity embodies the spirit of having fun whilst giving back, in this case to a charity whose patron is Lady March.”

The noise limit for the day is 105db. Those wanting to take part in the track day or driver’s dinner should visit www.classicsontrackforchildren.com or email [email protected] or [email protected].
