The following figures were announced by Public Health England at 3pm today (April 18).

East Sussex: 420 confirmed cases

West Sussex: 782 confirmed cases

Brighton and Hove: 279 confirmed cases

The Government is announcing hospital deaths from coronavirus by each individual NHS trust. This is as follows.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust: 44

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust: 7

Western Sussex Hospital Foundations Trust: 56

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust: 72

Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust: 132

Total recorded deaths across Sussex: 311

In the UK the total number of confirmed cases is 114,217 and the hospital death toll is at 15,464. Today, 888 people died in connection with the virus.
