Appeal for witnesses after suspected arson attack in Arundel

A bottle containing a flammable fluid is believed to have been thrown at a fish and chip van in Arundel earlier this week, according to Sussex Police.

Police are investigating the suspected arson attack on the driveway of a property in the early hours of Wednesday morning (September 2).

A spokesperson said: “The van was parked on the driveway of a property at Park Farm Cottages when the fire was reported at 1.17am.

“It appears that a bottle containing a flammable fluid may have been thrown at the vehicle causing the fire, which was extinguished before firefighters arrived.

“A number of people were seen in the area at the time of the fire and police are seeking witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the time leading up to it.”
