Bognor man held at knifepoint in his own home

A Bognor man was held at knifepoint and then robbed of £1,000 in his own home, Sussex Police has confirmed.

According to police, a 25-year-old man was confronted in the hallway by two intruders when returning to his flat in Longford Road at approximately 2.15pm on Wednesday (October 18).

One of them, armed with a knife, ordered him to lie down on the floor and took his mobile phone while his accomplice stole an iPad and £1,000 cash, police have said.

Sussex Police said both thieves then fled, leaving their victim shocked but otherwise unhurt.

A police spokesperson said: “The victim’s assailant is described as being white, in his mid-20s, 5’8” - 5’10”, of skinny build and with ginger stubble. He was wearing a black hoody and black tracksuit bottoms.

“The second suspect was also white and in his mid-20s, around 5’8”, of skinny build, wearing a dark baseball cap and grey hoody. Both men spoke with strong East European accents.

“Anyone who saw these men or noticed anything else suspicious is asked to email email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 583 of 19/10.

“Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (www.crimestoppers-uk.org).”
