Burglary suspect '˜climbed over wall' of Chichester home

Police are searching for a suspected burglar who was seen climbing over the garden wall of a house in Chichester.

Officers said a neighbour to the property in South Bank, Chichester, reported seeing the man at about 6.15pm on Tuesday (March 21), from the canal towpath linking the A27 and Canal Wharf.

It was later discovered that the house had been broken into and a quantity of jewellery had been stolen, police said.

The suspect is described by police as white, in his thirties, about 5ft 7in, slim, wearing dark clothing and a striped yellow and brown beanie hat.
